However, the distribution is not centralized. Due to the characteristics of a short-term plant, many uses and less space, bananas are grown in many places in orchards and households. Some central and southern provinces have quite large banana growing areas (Thanh Hoa, Nghe An, Khanh Hoa, Dong Nai, Soc Trang, Ca Mau have an area from 3,000 ha to nearly 8,000 ha). Meanwhile, the northern provinces with the largest banana growing area such as Hai Phong, Nam Dinh, Phu Tho… have not reached 3,000 ha.

The peel is used in a number of medical fields, extracting ingredients for use in toothpaste, cosmetics, etc.
